Who it is forA Blender modeler or set designer who needs a textured surface built from a photo or concept image.

The problemBuilding a textured plane by hand with the correct image mapping takes time for every reference.

The outcomeThe image becomes a Plane or a Depth Plane in the scene, ready to place and light.

What you need first

  • Blender with the AnyImage add-on installed, following the Installation page linked in the README
  • An image on the clipboard or an existing image in the Blender file

Steps

  1. Paste an image into Blender or select an existing Image Empty.
  2. Right-click the Image Empty to open the Any Image menu.
  3. Choose the Plane action for a flat result, or the Depth Plane action for a dimensional result.
  4. Place and inspect the new plane in the 3D View.

Prompt for your agent

Using the OmooLab/AnyImage add-on in Blender, convert the Image Empty named <image empty name> into a Plane or Depth Plane. Expected output: a new plane object in the scene with the image applied. Verify that the plane shows the source image in the viewport.

Caveat. The README names the Plane and Depth Plane options but does not explain their settings, so check the result in the viewport before relying on it.
