Who it is forA 3D artist who finds a reference image while working in Blender and wants it in the scene right away.
The problemSaving a screenshot or reference to disk, then importing it, breaks the flow of a modeling session.
The outcomeThe image appears in the current Blender workspace as a usable element, with no intermediate file.
What you need first
- Blender with the AnyImage add-on installed, following the Installation page linked in the README
- An image on the clipboard or an existing image in the Blender file
Steps
- Copy an image to the clipboard.
- Hover over the 3D View or Node Editor in Blender.
- Press Ctrl+Shift+V (Cmd+Shift+V on macOS) to paste the image into the current workspace.
- Select the new Image Empty and right-click to open the Any Image menu for further actions.
Prompt for your agent
Using the OmooLab/AnyImage add-on in Blender, paste the clipboard image <image file or description> into the 3D View with Ctrl+Shift+V. Expected output: an Image Empty in the current scene. Verify that the Image Empty exists and that the AnyImage menu opens on right-click.
Caveat. The README gives only the Blender paste shortcut and does not describe the install commands, so setup depends on the linked Installation page.
