Who it is forA developer or installing agent who runs DeepSeek Harness locally and wants a native task board in the Web UI.
The problemInstalling a Harness plugin means editing profile files, rebuilding composition, and restarting a live process without breaking sessions. Each step is easy to get wrong.
The outcomeThe Taskboard sidebar button appears in the Harness Web UI, a test project and task persist after refresh, and the plugin is confirmed in the running Host.
What you need first
- A DeepSeek Harness checkout or installation with the web profile
- Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0 (verify with `node -v`)
- pnpm 11.x for repository development (verify with `pnpm -v`); profile installation uses Harness's pnpm
- Write access to $DSH_HOME (default ~/.dsh) and the ability to restart the Harness process
Steps
- Run
node -vandpnpm -vto confirm Node 22.19+ or 24+ and pnpm 11.x. - Run
dsh plugin --profile web add -w @shengsheng/dsh-taskboardto install the prebuilt package from npm. - Run
dsh --profile web --dump-configand confirm the output ends with a# == @shengsheng/dsh-taskboardlayer. - Restart Harness as described in README step 7, then poll
GET /until@shengsheng/dsh-taskboardappears. - Open the Harness Web UI, click the Taskboard control in the sidebar footer, create a test project and task, refresh, and confirm both persist.
Prompt for your agent
Using the README at https://github.com/shengsheng90/DSH-taskboard, install @shengsheng/dsh-taskboard into the web profile of the DeepSeek Harness running from <harness-checkout-path>. Run `dsh --profile web --dump-config` and confirm it ends with a `# == @shengsheng/dsh-taskboard` layer. Report the count of `@shengsheng/dsh-taskboard` in `GET /` and the HTTP status of the client.js bundle, and do not restart Harness without telling the operator first.
Caveat. Restarting Harness interrupts in-flight Agent turns, and the README says to tell the operator before restarting.
