How to rewrite one agent response on demand with Nopus

Invoke the Nopus simplify skill to request a clearer rewrite when automatic checks did not trigger.

Who it is forA developer who finds a specific agent answer too complex even though Nopus did not request a rewrite.

The problemSome dense answers pass the automatic threshold but are still hard to follow.

The outcomeThe agent returns a clearer version of the preceding response that keeps meaning, technical terms, commands, and qualifications.

What you need first

  • Node.js 22 or newer with the `node` command available
  • One supported coding agent installed: Pi, Claude Code, or Codex
  • Permission to add a plugin or marketplace in the chosen agent

Steps

  1. Make sure Node.js 22 or newer is installed and the node command is available, and that Nopus is installed for Claude Code or Codex.
  2. In Claude Code, run /nopus:nopus-simplify after the response you want to simplify.
  3. In Codex, run $nopus-simplify after the response you want to simplify.
  4. Compare the revised response with the original and confirm that commands and identifiers are unchanged.

Prompt for your agent

Using the nopus repo at Vistyy/nopus, run `/nopus:nopus-simplify` in Claude Code or `$nopus-simplify` in Codex in <project directory> right after the response you want rewritten. Expected output: a revised version of that response. Verify that technical terms, commands, identifiers, and conditions appear unchanged in the revision.

Caveat. The manual skill does not change Nopus configuration, so it only affects the single response you invoke it on.
