Meta said on Monday it plans to raise $95 billion to support its AI infrastructure spending. According to CNBC, it will first raise $35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings, then another $60 billion through an at-the-market program. The announcement said Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices and Broadcom were interested in buying up to $5 billion in shares.
Nvidia followed on Tuesday by confirming it will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering. CNBC reports that Meta will expand its deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPU hardware, and that the two companies will deepen their partnership on Muse, the AI agent Meta launched last month. Both companies' shares were flat in premarket trading on Tuesday, per CNBC.
Unite.AI, summarizing an Nvidia Newsroom release dated October 26, adds details. Meta will deploy Nvidia Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4 to support network efficiency and throughput. The companies will work on joint optimization to improve inference and training performance for the Muse family of models, and will consider further collaboration on Nvidia's OpenShell Reference Architecture, described as supporting safe deployment, and Nvidia Sentry, a tool for monitoring agent behavior. The release describes the investment as proposed, subject to closing conditions.
Both chief executives framed it around agents. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a statement that AI agents represent a new computing paradigm, software that understands goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on a person's behalf. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Meta is excited to keep working with Nvidia to deliver personal agents and frontier models for billions of people.
The deal fits a wider pattern. CNBC notes Nvidia has been building stakes in companies powering the AI boom, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Intel and xAI, and has taken part in 121 investment rounds so far this year, according to Dealroom, up from 13 in 2022. The Unite.AI report says the new announcement builds on a multi-year partnership announced on February 17, 2026.
For developers, the clearest takeaway is that the largest AI builders are now financing compute with equity as well as debt and cash flow, and that chip suppliers are becoming investors in their own customers. That affects the capacity and pricing of the models you build on. The agent-safety tooling Nvidia mentioned, OpenShell and Sentry, is worth watching if you ship agents, though the sources describe it only as under consideration for now.
