How to add items to a cart in a profile that stays signed in with Fastbrowse

Reuse a Chrome profile that is already signed in to run cart tasks without a password.

Credentials. The profile directory holds session cookies for the signed-in account, so anyone who can read that directory can act as that account.

Who it is forA shopper or buyer who repeats the same cart task on a site they already use and wants to avoid signing in each time.

The problemEach run in a fresh browser needs a login, and the login step breaks repeated tasks.

The outcomeA run that opens the saved profile, works on the signed-in account and reports what it did, with the profile kept on disk between runs.

What you need first

  • uv, which fetches Python 3.13 or newer
  • OPENROUTER_API_KEY, or AI_GATEWAY_API_KEY for the Vercel AI Gateway
  • BROWSER_USE_API_KEY for the default cloud browser, or the --local flag for local Chrome

Steps

  1. google-chrome --user-data-dir="$HOME/.fastbrowse/amazon" https://www.amazon.com/ and sign in, then close Chrome
  2. uv run fastbrowse "Add a UGREEN USB-A to USB-C cable, 2m, to my cart." --start https://www.amazon.com/ --profile ~/.fastbrowse/amazon --headed (inferred, check the README)
  3. Drop --headed once the profile is signed in, so the run is headless and opens no window
  4. Check the cart page in the same profile to confirm the item was added (inferred, check the README)

Prompt for your agent

Use the fastbrowse repo to add <item> to the cart on <site URL> using the profile at <profile dir>. Run `uv run fastbrowse "<task>" --start <site URL> --profile <profile dir>` and report the status and cost. Verify the item appears in the cart in that profile.

Caveat. The profile is local to one machine, so a cloud browser needs the separate --cloud-profile setup on the Browser Use Cloud account instead.
