Credentials. The vault login's username, password and any one-time code are typed into the page, so a vault item saved with the wrong URI or a shared machine can expose them.
Who it is forAn operator who must sign into a web service with a stored password and wants a human to approve any form submission.
The problemPasting a password into an agent prompt exposes it, and a browser agent can submit changes without a review step.
The outcomeThe login fields are filled from the vault on the start origin only, and the run stops at needs_confirmation before any submit, unless --authorize is given.
What you need first
- uv, which fetches Python 3.13 or newer
- OPENROUTER_API_KEY, or AI_GATEWAY_API_KEY for the Vercel AI Gateway
- BROWSER_USE_API_KEY for the default cloud browser, or the --local flag for local Chrome
Steps
- Install and unlock the Bitwarden CLI, then run
export BW_SESSION="$(bw unlock --raw)" - Run
uv run fastbrowse "<task>" --start <start URL> --bitwarden <vault item name>without--authorize(inferred, check the README) - Read the result: a run that reaches needs_confirmation has not submitted anything
- Add
--authorizeonly after you have checked the planned submit
Prompt for your agent
Use the fastbrowse repo to sign into <start URL> with the Bitwarden item <vault item name> and report the page the run stops on. Run `uv run fastbrowse "<task>" --start <start URL> --bitwarden <vault item name>` without --authorize. Verify the result reports needs_confirmation and that no submit happened.
Caveat. The item's saved URIs must match --start, so a login stored under another address will not be used at all.
