Who it is forA developer who wants a terminal agent to script Blender scenes and assets.
The problemThe automatic setup may not detect your client, or you want control over what changes in your config.
The outcomeClaude Code or Codex connected to Blender, able to run Blender Python and manipulate the scene.
What you need first
- Blender
- uv (the setup installs it if needed; use the official installer, not pip install uv)
- An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor
- Optional: API access for AI model generators, or the Premium plan
Steps
- Install uv with the official installer
- For Claude Code run
claude mcp add blender uvx mcp-for-blender - For Codex run
codex mcp add blender -- uvx mcp-for-blender - Install and enable the addon with
uvx mcp-for-blender install-addon - Open Blender and ask the agent to run a small Blender Python task
Prompt for your agent
Connect ahujasid/mcp-for-blender to Claude Code, then write and run Blender Python that generates <procedural asset>, and show me a render of the result.
Caveat. Code execution means the AI runs Python inside Blender; save your file first and use safe mode if you want to limit it.
Use this in your AI agent
Ask your agent
Using the Deduped MCP, get the setup steps for ahujasid/mcp-for-blender and "Connect Claude Code or Codex to Blender manually"
Add Deduped to Claude Code once
claude mcp add --transport http deduped https://dedupedai.com/mcp
