How to drive an agent session from the terminal with the CLI with Brew Ping

Start, message, check, and stop an OpenCode session from a shell using the Brew Ping CLI.

What you need first

  • A Mac or Windows computer with BrewPing Desktop installed (macOS 13.0+ or Windows 10/11 with WebView2)
  • At least one CLI coding agent installed on that computer, such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, or pi
  • An iPhone (iOS 17.0+) with the BrewPing app from the App Store, or an Android build from the repository
  • Phone and computer on the same local network, since cross-network access is not supported

Steps

  1. Install OpenCode with curl -fsSL https://get.opencode.ai | sh.
  2. Clone the repository with git clone https://github.com/banmu123/BrewPing.git and enter it with cd BrewPing.
  3. Start a session with swift run BrewPing start, then send an instruction with swift run BrewPing send "Fix the failing test".
  4. Check progress with swift run BrewPing status and attach with swift run BrewPing attach (Ctrl+D to detach).
  5. Stop the session with swift run BrewPing stop.

Using the repo banmu123/BrewPing, run `swift run BrewPing start`, then `swift run BrewPing send "<instruction>"`, then `swift run BrewPing status`. Expected output: a running session status after the message is sent. Verify that `swift run BrewPing stop` ends the session.

Caveat. The CLI start example opens an OpenCode session, so OpenCode must be installed before the commands will run.
