Who it is forA developer on the move who wants a quick, hands-free way to steer a running agent.
The problemTyping a precise instruction into a phone or going back to the desk interrupts whatever else you are doing.
The outcomeYou dictate an instruction from the Watch, switch agent or model with a swipe, and read the reply.
What you need first
- A Mac or Windows computer with BrewPing Desktop installed (macOS 13.0+ or Windows 10/11 with WebView2)
- At least one CLI coding agent installed on that computer, such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, or pi
- An iPhone (iOS 17.0+) with the BrewPing app from the App Store, or an Android build from the repository
- Phone and computer on the same local network, since cross-network access is not supported
Steps
- Install Brew Ping from the App Store on an iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later; the Watch app ships with it.
- Install Brew Ping Desktop from the GitHub Release at https://github.com/banmu123/BrewPing/releases/tag/v1.0.0 and pair the iPhone.
- On the Watch, swipe to choose the agent and model you want to use.
- Tap to dictate your instruction and wait for the reply to appear on the Watch.
Prompt for your agent
Using the repo banmu123/BrewPing, pair the Apple Watch app with the desktop and send the dictated instruction <instruction> to the active agent. Expected output: the agent's reply shown on the Watch. Verify that the active agent and model match the selection made by swiping on the Watch.
Caveat. The Watch app requires watchOS 11.6 or later and ships with the iPhone app, so it cannot be installed on its own.
