Who it is forA developer away from the keyboard who wants to give an AI coding agent its next instruction by voice.
The problemReturning to the keyboard just to type a short follow-up prompt slows the work and interrupts other tasks.
The outcomeThe developer speaks a prompt into the watch while holding the center microphone and the assistant receives the spoken request.
What you need first
- M5Stack StopWatch
- A macOS computer with Bluetooth
- PlatformIO Core installed
- A USB connection between the StopWatch and the computer for upload
Steps
- Pair the StopWatch with the Mac as described in the build and pair steps.
- Press both hardware buttons to enter the Action layer.
- Press and hold the center microphone control to talk.
- Speak the prompt, then release the microphone to finish the request.
Prompt for your agent
Using the GOROman/vibewatch repo, send a spoken prompt from the watch to the assistant by holding the center microphone while saying <prompt text>. Report the text the assistant received. Verify the assistant response matches the spoken request.
Caveat. The README mentions voice input and push-to-talk but does not describe speech recognition or which assistant receives the audio, so test one spoken prompt before relying on it.
