Authorization notice. Beat Design is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.
Credentials. Generation and AI redo need your own BeatAPI API key, so store it safely and do not paste it into shared agent prompts or logs.
Who it is forA creative lead testing visual ideas who wants to compare several generations and reuse outputs in one project.
The problemGenerated images and videos are often scattered across tools, which makes comparing and reusing them slow.
The outcomeA Canvas with prompts, generated results, and branches you can compare, with each result saved as a reusable project Asset.
What you need first
- Node.js 22 or newer
- pnpm 10 or newer
- A current Chrome browser on macOS or Windows
- A BeatAPI API key, only if you want to generate or analyze media or use AI redo
Steps
- Run
pnpm install, thenpnpm db:push, thenpnpm dev. - Open http://127.0.0.1:3020 in Chrome.
- Add your BeatAPI API key from the BeatAPI dashboard in Beat Design settings.
- Add prompt, image, or video nodes on the Infinite Canvas and connect them.
- Generate results, branch ideas, and compare outputs; generated results become Assets you can reuse in the Editor.
Prompt for your agent
In the BeatDesign repo at <repo path>, use the Canvas to connect a prompt node for <prompt text> to an image generation node, generate three variations, and list the resulting Asset names. Verify that each variation appears as an Asset in the project.
Caveat. Generation needs a BeatAPI key and sends media to a provider, while local importing and editing do not.
