Who it is forA developer whose coding agent is partway through a long task when they need to close the laptop or leave the desk.
The problemLong agent runs stop when the Mac sleeps or the developer walks away, and restarting the work loses context.
The outcomeThe same thread, model, and effort level keep running in the cloud, and the developer can move it back to the Mac later.
What you need first
- An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, or the Linux x64 alpha from the Releases page
- Your own Claude Code, Codex, or Pi subscription
- A Cloud invite from the waitlist, for any cloud-based step
- Download the app from https://www.cloudroom.dev/download
Steps
- Open Cloudroom on your Mac and start a Claude Code or Codex thread on your project.
- Let the agent work on the task until you need to leave.
- Use Teleport to move the running thread to the cloud.
- Check that the thread shows the same chat, model, and effort in the cloud.
- Teleport the thread back to your Mac when you return.
Prompt for your agent
Using the Cloudroom app in the cloudroom-gui repo, move the running thread for <project or task name> from the Mac to the cloud with Teleport. Expected output: the same thread running in the cloud with the same chat, model, and effort. Verify that the chat history and model match before you report success.
Caveat. Teleport needs Cloud access, which is invite-only for now, so the first run depends on getting an invite.
