Who it is forAn engineer who wants to test two or three approaches to the same bug or feature and pick the best one.
The problemTrying several approaches in one working copy causes conflicts, and running them by hand takes too long.
The outcomeEach approach runs in its own sandbox and Git branch, so the engineer can review and compare the branches side by side.
What you need first
- An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, or the Linux x64 alpha from the Releases page
- Your own Claude Code, Codex, or Pi subscription
- A Cloud invite from the waitlist, for any cloud-based step
- Download the app from https://www.cloudroom.dev/download
Steps
- Open Cloudroom and start a Cloud thread for your repository.
- Give the thread the first approach to the task.
- Start a second Cloud thread with a different approach to the same task.
- Let each thread finish and review its Git branch.
- Keep the branch that passes your tests and discard the others.
Prompt for your agent
In the cloudroom-gui repo's Cloudroom app, start two Cloud threads for <repository and task>, each with a different approach. Expected output: two separate Git branches, one per thread. Verify that each branch has its own sandbox changes before choosing one.
Caveat. Cloud threads are invite-only for now, and the README does not say how many Cloud threads one account can run.
