Authorization notice. Voice Studio is dual-use. Only use it on software, sites and systems you own or have explicit permission to test.
Remote script. The one-command installer is a script piped from the internet into sh, so read it or use the repository copy first if you are cautious.
Voice cloning. If the dub uses a cloned voice, use only a voice you have permission to clone.
Who it is forA video creator or localization editor who needs a dubbed version of a finished video and does not want to upload footage to a cloud service.
The problemDubbing usually means sending footage to a paid hosted tool and waiting on its queue, and speech often drifts out of sync with the picture.
The outcomeA dubbed version of the video with speech placed on the original timing, produced on local hardware.
What you need first
- A computer with an NVIDIA GPU, Apple Silicon, or a CPU (slower)
- Free disk space; the CPU build of PyTorch needs about 5 GB
- Permission to use any voice you clone
- Internet access for the installer and the first model download
Steps
curl -fsSL https://voicestudio.sh/install | sh- Open Voice Studio and choose the Video dubbing workspace.
- Add your video and the voice or language you want, then install the required model when prompted.
- Generate the dub and listen to the sections where speech starts and stops to check timing.
Prompt for your agent
In the VoiceStudio repo (github.com/debpalash/VoiceStudio), dub <path to video> into <target language> using the Video dubbing workspace with timed speech. Expected output: a dubbed video file. Verify that speech starts and stops at the same points as the original dialogue.
Caveat. The README says hardware needs vary by engine, so dubbing speed depends on your GPU or CPU.
