Who it is forA researcher who uses Claude Science rather than Claude Code and wants the ARS research and writing methods available there.
The problemClaude Science has no direct way to use the ARS research and writing protocols without copying them by hand.
The outcomeThe five ARS skills appear in your Claude Science skills list as a snapshot of the current release.
What you need first
- Claude Code CLI, VS Code, or JetBrains with the plugin marketplace available (plugin install needs v3.7.0+ of this repo)
- An Anthropic API key set up as described in docs/SETUP.md
- Optional: Pandoc or tectonic for DOCX or PDF output, per docs/SETUP.md
- For the Claude Science path: a Claude Science account and this repo at v3.14.0+
Steps
- Open Skills in Claude Science and choose Import from GitHub.
- Paste
https://github.com/Imbad0202/academic-research-skillsand select Preview. - Select Import after the preview loads.
- Re-import after each ARS update, because imports are point-in-time snapshots.
- Note that slash commands, hooks and subagent orchestration do not transfer.
Prompt for your agent
Import the skills from https://github.com/Imbad0202/academic-research-skills into Claude Science, then confirm that all five ARS skills are listed. Expected output: five imported skills. Verify that the imported version is v3.14.0 or later before relying on it.
Caveat. The import carries only the methodology, so the Claude Code machinery such as slash commands and hooks is not available in Claude Science.
