What you need first

  • A Google TV or Android TV (Android 9 or newer), an LG TV (webOS 3 or newer), or a Samsung TV from 2017 or newer (Tizen 3+)
  • A computer on the same Wi-Fi as the TV
  • Developer mode enabled on the TV, with the TV's IP address written down
  • Claude Code, or for the manual route a JDK 17+, the Android SDK command-line tools and adb

Steps

  1. Create a free account at themoviedb.org, then open Settings → API and request a developer key. Copy the API Read Access Token.
  2. Run ./build.sh once to create config.properties, then set latitude, longitude, city, tmdb_region and tmdb_key in it.
  3. Set currency (for example EUR) and temperature in config.properties if you want them changed.
  4. Run ./build.sh again to rebuild the app.
  5. Install with adb connect 192.168.1.50:5555 and adb install -r FreeMyTV.apk.

Prompt for your agent
