Who it is forA Pi user who wants a plain-language card on most long answers without triggering it by hand.
The problemRunning /slye after each answer is easy to forget, so long answers often go unsummarized.
The outcomeEligible completed answers get a rewrite card automatically, and you can pause that behavior at any time.
What you need first
- Pi (current release) or Oh My Pi (OMP) installed
- A model available and authenticated in the host so SLYE can call it
- A terminal to run the install command
- Node 24+ only if you plan to develop or test the repo itself
Steps
- Install SLYE in Pi with
pi install npm:speak-like-you-eat. - Run
/slye modeland choose a model if no usable model is saved yet. - Run
/slye onto enable automatic rewriting. - Run
/slye offwhen you want to stop automatic rewriting while keeping manual/slyeavailable.

In the SLYE repo (wtfzambo/speak-like-you-eat), enable automatic rewriting in Pi with /slye on and then complete a long answer in <target project>. Expected output: a rewrite card appears only for answers with at least 200 non-whitespace prose characters outside fenced code. Verify that a short answer gets no automatic card.
Caveat. Automatic rewriting only applies to responses that finished normally and contain at least 200 non-whitespace prose characters outside fenced code.
