Who it is forA gathering player who wants to find herb or ore nodes without checking each zone by hand.
The problemFinding nodes for a specific gathering profession means hunting through zones or looking up outside sites.
The outcomeHerb or ore spawns appear on your world map, filtered to your gathering skill.
What you need first
- Windows (NTFS), Linux with the game under Wine on X11, or macOS with a native client, plus python3 where the README asks for it
- World of Warcraft: Forever in windowed or borderless mode (exclusive fullscreen blocks screen capture)
- Node.js 22.2 or newer
- At least one agent CLI installed and logged in, such as Claude Code (claude) or Codex (codex)
- git to clone the repo
Steps
- Complete the install steps for your OS so the WoW AI addon is enabled.
- In game, run
/wow-ai map oreto show ore spawns. - Run
/wow-ai map herbto show herb spawns. - Open the world map to see the spawns for your gathering skill.
Prompt for your agent
In the wow-ai repo, with WoW AI enabled in game, run /wow-ai map herb and /wow-ai map ore and check the world map. Expected output: spawn markers for the chosen gathering type. Verify that the markers match your gathering skill before reporting results.
Caveat. The map commands depend on the addon being enabled in game, so this does not work from the terminal alone.
