How to run multi-round research with cited sources with Movo

Search internal documents and public sources, then inspect the evidence behind each answer.

Who it is forAn analyst or consultant who needs a sourced answer from both company documents and public web material.

The problemManual research across scattered internal files and public sources is slow, and answers are hard to trace back to evidence.

The outcomeA research result that keeps citations and lets the user inspect the supporting evidence.

What you need first

  • Git installed
  • Docker Desktop, or Docker Engine with Docker Compose v2
  • At least 8 GB of available memory and 20 GB of available disk space
  • Network access to GHCR and Docker Hub for the initial image pull
  • Credentials for at least one compatible model API to complete setup

Steps

  1. git clone https://github.com/himovo/movo.git
  2. cd movo
  3. ./movo up
  4. Open http://localhost:3000/ and upload your documents to the knowledge area.
  5. Start a research task in the user workspace, ask a question that needs both internal and public sources, and review the citations.

Prompt for your agent

Using the repo himovo/movo, deploy it locally with ./movo up and upload <document folder> to the knowledge area. Run a multi-round research question on <topic> and return the answer with its citations. Verify that every claim links to a cited source.

Caveat. Public source search depends on a Web search provider, which the README lists as optional during setup, so it must be configured before public research works.
