Who it is forA developer who steps away from the desk but stays on the same network as their Mac and wants to see agent status on the phone.
The problemChecking whether an agent has quota left or is waiting requires being at the Mac.
The outcomeQuotas, balances, token statistics and sessions show on iPhone, in widgets and on Apple Watch, served directly by the Mac.
What you need first
- A Mac running macOS 14 or later
- Xcode or the Xcode Command Line Tools with a Swift 6 toolchain
- Git, to clone the repository
- At least one supported agent installed and signed in, such as Claude Code or Codex
Steps
- Install the official Mac app from https://agenthud.app/mac.
- In the Mac app, open Settings → Local network and turn on Share this Mac.
- Open Agent HUD for iPhone on an iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account, which connects by itself.
- For any other iPhone, scan the QR code shown by the Mac to pair it.
- Check the Home and Sessions views on the phone to confirm quotas and sessions are showing.
Prompt for your agent
Open the official Agent HUD Mac app, turn on Settings → Local network → Share this Mac, then pair an iPhone on the same network. Verify that the iPhone Home view shows the same quotas as the Mac and report any mismatch.
Caveat. This path uses the official Mac app and the iPhone app, not the open-source build, and remote access away from the network is a separate paid feature called Agent HUD Remote.
